Several studies have been made on the variation of the Hertzian pressure, on the lubricant film thickness, on the variation of the bulk and surface temperature (for pinion and gear), on the principles presented by Wang and Cheng (1980). The following parameters have been considered variable: face width, rotational speed, gearing ratio. By processing the data obtained by numerical modelling, diagrams illustrating the variation of the tribological characteristics of the Hertzian contact in six points along the line of action have been obtained.
