Abstract
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 2009 i 2011 roku wśród studentów uczelni Opola (Politechniki Opolskiej, Uniwersytetu Opolskiego i Wyższej Szkoły Administracji i Zarządzania) dotyczące korzystania z zasobów internetowych i bibliotecznych. W ankiecie główny nacisk położono na znalezienie odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: jakie są powody korzystania z zasobów Internetu, jaki jest stopień ich przydatności i wiarygodności oraz za pomocą jakich narzędzi studenci docierają do potrzebnej informacji. Pytano również o to, czy powszechna informatyzacja ograniczy rolę biblioteki uczelnianej i dlaczego. W 2009 roku blisko 70% studentów deklarowało, że codziennie korzysta z Internetu, a w 2011 roku nastąpił wzrost o kolejne 15%. Wśród powodów korzystania z Internetu w obu badaniach na pierwszym miejscu pozostaje „mogę znaleźć potrzebne materiały oraz informacje potrzebne w życiu codziennym.” Do ponad 23% wzrosło wykorzystanie sieci do usług bankowych, a o ponad 10% do czytania prasy i dokonywania zakupów. Zarówno w 2009 jak i w 2011 roku dla badanych podstawowym narzędziem wyszukiwania informacji w Internecie pozostaje Google, a podstawowym zasobem elektronicznym biblioteki jej katalog. W obu badaniach niepokoi fakt niskiego wykorzystania e-zasobów oraz bibliotek cyfrowych. Wzrósł natomiast odsetek osób uważających, że Internet i jego zasoby nie ograniczą roli bibliotek, z 57% w 2009 do 68% w 2011 roku. Dla zwolenników bibliotek publikacja elektroniczna nigdy nie zastąpi książki drukowanej, ankietowani podkreślali również rolę bibliotekarza w poszukiwaniu informacji. W 2011 roku studenci uznali, że biblioteka staje się „trzecim miejscem.”
In the paper results of research concerning of the Internet and library utilization by Opole students were presented. The survey was supposed to give answers to the following questions: what are the reasons for the use of Internet resources, the degree of their usefulness and reliability and what tools students use to get to the information. Students were also asked whether the Internet will reduce the role of the university library and why. In 2009, nearly 70% of students reported daily use of the Internet, this usage has increased by 15% in 2011. In both trials among the reasons for using the Internet in the first place is: "I can find the necessary materials and information.” The network use for banking services has increased by 23%, and reading newspapers and making purchases use by 10%. In both research basic tool for finding information on the Internet is Google and basic resource of the library its electronic catalog. In both research the low usage of e-resources and digital libraries is worrying. The number of students who believe that the Internet and its resources won’t limit the role of libraries was increased, from 57% in 2009 to 68% in 2011. Library supporters think that online publication will never replace the printed book, the role of the librarian in information search was emphasized. In 2011 students consider that the library becomes "the third place."
