Abstract: Detal architektoniczny może być stać się samodzielnym elementem kompozycji architektonicznej i łączyć lub dzielić przestrzenie. Architekci Axel Schultes i Charlotte Frank w zrealizowanym w latach 1992-2000 projekcie krematorium Berlin Treptow Baumschulenweg udowadniają, że detal architektoniczny zaprzeczając czysto użytkowemu przeznaczeniu budowli, może mieć zdolność przeniesienia obiektu użytkowego w przestrzeń metafory, w sferę spekulacji filozoficznych i metafizycznych.

Architectural detail can become an independent element of architectural composition and combine or divide spaces. The architects Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank building of Berlin Treptow Crematorium Baumschulenweg completed 1992-2000, prove that architectural detail, by denying the simply useful purpose of the building, may have the ability to transfer utilitarian object in space metaphor, into the realm of philosophical and metaphysical speculation.
