Przyglądając się światowym i krajowym realizacjom ostatnich lat można zauważyć, że wielu wybitnych architektów, czy wiele wyróżniających się zespołów dąży do ograniczania stosowania materialnych środków wyrazu. Stara się, aby odbiór budynku kształtowany był także przez elementy niematerialne, takie jak swobodnie przepływające światło, ruch, efekty odbić i refleksów na płaszczyznach szklanych, harmonijne relacje z otoczeniem. Zakładają, że możliwa jest dematerializacja materialnej struktury budynku.
We can observe that many contemporary outstanding architects or distinguishing groups of architects try to limit the material, tangible ways of expression. They attempt to design buildings in such a way that they can be perceived also by means of some immaterial and intangible elements, such as smooth lighting, movement, the reflexive effects of the glass, harmony with the environment. They assume that a dematerialization of the tangible building structure is possible.
