Abstract
Rewitalizacja i renowacja a przede wszystkim adaptacja budynków zabytkowych usytuowanych w historycznych centrach miast zobowiązuje projektantów do potraktowania ich ze szczególną ostrożnością i wrażliwością. Pomimo norm i zaleceń określonych prawem czy wytycznych międzynarodowych gremiów będących wynikiem długoletniej dyskusji, każdy zabytek wymaga indywidualnego podejścia. Projektowanie nowej funkcji dla budynków zabytkowych musi być realizowane w oparciu o granice oddzielające adaptację od przekształcenia skutkującego zniszczeniem zabytkowej architektury, zatraceniem charakteru i spójności stylistycznej. W artykule omówiono trzy hotele będące adaptacją obiektów zabytkowych: Hotel pod Różą, Copernicus i Monopol oraz przebudowę budynków 12 i 13 zlokalizowanych na Rynku Głównym w Krakowie na galerię handlową, które były realizowane wg projektów autorów.
Revitalization, renovation and most of all adaptation of historical buildings located in old city centers require the special attention and care in treatment by designers. Despite codes and requirements or international regulations being the result of long-term discussion, each historical object needs individual approach. Design of the new function for historical buildings have to be realized on the base of limits dividing adaptation from transformation that may be equivalent to destruction of historical architecture, the loss of character and stylistic consistency. In the paper there are presented three hotels that constitute adaptation of historical buildings (Hotel pod Różą, Copernicus and Monopol ) as well as reconstruction of buildings no 12 and 13 located at the Market Place in Cracow and their adaptation to commercial gallery, all realized according to authors projects.
