Abstract
Ponowoczesną architekturą XXI wieku wciąż rządzi narzucony w erze modernizmu ideologiczny schemat walki „starego” z „nowym”, w którym racja stać musi z założenia po stronie „nowego”. Subiektywny pogląd o potrzebie permanentnej rewolucji w architekturze jest jednak konsekwentnie przedstawiany jako nieodparta konieczność, warunkowana postępem cywilizacyjnym. Efemeryczne dzieła (?) architektury nadal często ignorują lub niszczą historyczny kontekst – lecz bez niego ich krótkotrwały sukces okazuje się niemożliwy.
The postmodern architecture of the 21st century continues to be governed by the ideological pattern of the struggle between the „old” and the „new”, imposed in the era of modernity, in which by principle, it is the ”new” that has to be always right. The subjective view concerning the need for a permanent revolution in architecture is however consistently presented as an irresistible necessity, conditioned by progress. The ephemeral works of architecture still continue to ignore or destroy the historical context – though without it, their short-lived success turns out to be impossible.
