Abstract
Artykuł próbuje zdefiniować rolę oraz znaczenie socjologiczne i kulturotwórcze wielkoprzestrzennych obiektów, nie tylko sportowych, lokalizowanych obecnie w strukturze miasta, ale także przedstawić aspiracje Mecenasów do uzyskania unikalnej formy przy ściśle zdefiniowanej funkcji obiektu. Czasem udaje się stworzyć niepowtarzalny i jedyny w swoim wyrazie „znak miejsca i czasu”, na co wszyscy czekają niecierpliwie.
The article tries to define the role and sociological and culture-creating significance of largespatial objects, not only sports ones, which are being currently localized in the city's structure, as well as to present the Maecenases' aspirations to acquire a unique form while a function of the object is strictly defined. Sometimes it succeeds to create the one of the kind and unique in its expression „sign of place and time”, what all is impatiently waiting for.
