Although avant-garde architects of machine age tended to reject most of features of classical urban art, many determinants of classic piece of art can be found in their work. As Bruno Zevi in his „Le langage moderne de l'architecture” confronts and finds similarities in architecture of modernism and renaissance, parallel analogies are visible in urbanism of both epochs. These are: shaping urban and architectural forms by science and intellectual control, basing its aesthetics on geometry and stereometry – elementar shapes, solids and mathematical ratios in particular- and working in new dimensions: the third in renaissance perspectivic view and time as the fourth in cubism.
