Głównym założeniem pracy doktorskiej było opracowanie prostej, ekologicznej metody ekstrakcji polifenoli z kwiatów czarnego bzu Sambucus nigra, kwiatów nagietka lekarskiego Calendula anthodium, uczepu trójlistnego Bidens tripartite jako składników preparatów do skóry atopowej. Drugim celem było poszukiwanie zależności pomiędzy budową surfaktantów oraz ich hydrofobowością a wydajnością procesu ekstrakcji.
Wyniki badań potwierdziły, ze ekstrakty z wymienionych roślin charakteryzują się bardzo bogatym składem i dobrymi właściwościami antyutleniającymi. Natomiast biorąc pod uwagę wrażliwość skóry atopowej, do jej pielęgnacji szczególnie ważne są tylko wybrane spośród tych związków. Stąd wydaje się, że w poszukiwaniu bezpiecznych surowców należy zastosować taką metodę ekstrakcji, która pozwoliłaby na selektywne pozyskiwanie tych pożądanych substancji aktywnych. Taką metodą jest ekstrakcja wspomagana micelarnie (MME).
The main goal of my doctoral thesis was to develop a simply, ecological extraction method of polyphenols, from elderberry blossom (Sambucus nigra), marigold flower (Calendula anthodium) and three-part beggarticks (Bidens tripartite) as an active ingredients of atopic skin care products. The second purpose of my dissertation was to find a relationship between the chemical structure of surfactants and the efficiency of the extraction process.
Extracts from these plants are characterized by a very rich composition. Because of sensitivity of atopic skin, only those selected from these compounds should be used. It seems that an extraction method should be used that would allow the selective extraction of these desirable active substances. The micelle-mediated extraction method (MME) in comparison with the liquid-liquid or solid-liquid extraction methods does not require the use of toxic organic solvents, so it offers a convenient alternative to the conventional extraction systems. In this method, instead of an organic solvent, an aqueous surfactant solution is used, which solubilizes desired ingredient in the hydrophobic micelles.
