Artykuł porusza problem użytkowości ogrodu ozdobnego. Na podstawie analizy dzieł literackich, malarskich i filmowych ukazuje określone sposoby korzystania z przestrzeni ogrodu, od starożytności po współczesność. Na przykładzie przechadzki, przyjęcia i spotkania kochanków pokazuje, jak trwałe są schematy ogrodowego życia i jak długa tradycja stoi za, zdawałoby się, spontanicznym postępowaniem. Takie ujęcie użytkowości ogrodu wynika zatem z samego faktu spędzania w nim czasu.
The article discusses the problem of utility of decorative garden. Based on the analysis of literature, paintings and films show specific ways of use the space of the garden, from antiquity to the present day. The examples of walks, parties and lovers’ meetings show how lasting models of garden life are and the length of tradition standing behind the seemingly spontaneous behavior. This approach shows that the utility of the garden is a result of spending time in it.
