Abstract
Liczne już obecnie adaptacje dawnych obiektów poprzemysłowych i komunalnych dowodzą, że najczęściej ta „przemijająca architektura” zostaje wykorzystywana dla potrzeb sztuki współczesnej, różnych działań artystycznych i multimedialnych. Współczesna sztuka stwarza możliwości ochrony tych obiektów, przywrócenia im rangi, jednocześnie postindustrialne przestrzenie tworzą specyficzny kontekst dla sztuki, stanowią wyzwanie dla artystów, kuratorów, reżyserów. Jak współczesna sztuka tchnęła nowe życie w opuszczone budynki, pokazano na wybranych przykładach.
Many adaptations of old industrial and municipal buildings prove, that currently this “passing architecture” is most often used for the contemporary art: exhibitions, performenses, multimedia presentations. Used of this buildings by art activites creats the possibility of their preservation and restoration, at the same time postindustrial spaces give art a specific context and challenge for the artists, curators, directors. How the contemporary art breathed new life into abandoned buildings are shown on selected examples.
