Abstract
Starzenie się budynków może być niezwykłym i fascynującym zjawiskiem. Architektura potrafi dobrze się starzeć, ale trzeba dać jej szansę. Zjawisko przemijania architektury, deformacji i w końcu umierania to wypadkowa wielu sił – tych niezależnych od człowieka, ale również ludzkiej bezmyślności. Problem ten szczególnie dotyka niechcianego dziedzictwa PRL – podręcznikowych dzieł architektury powojennego modernizmu.
The ageing of buildings may be an unusual and fascinating phenomenon. Architecture can grow old gracefully but we must give it a chance. The phenomenon of the passing of architecture, deformation and finally death is the effect of numerous forces – those independent of man but also human thoughtlessness. This problem greatly affects the unwanted heritage of the Polish People’s Republic – the school-bookish works of the architecture of postwar modernism.
