Abstract: Empiryczny sposób kształtowania formy architektonicznej zakłada, że piękno formy tkwi w jej entelechii: ukształtowaniu nakierowanemu na cel, jaki ma pełnić. Architektoniczni empiryści raz po raz oczyszczają formę ze szkodliwych – ich zdaniem – konwencji, redukując ją do entelechii. Następne pokolenie architektów nadaje formom zredukowanym walor nowego klasycyzmu. Próby takich kulturowych redefinicji powtarzają się regularnie od czasów sentymentalizmu.

Beauty of the building, rooted in its structure, is not given evidently. We can detect it in rational speculations. Architectural empiricists redefine relations between created forms and the nature of the environment, whilst the next generation of architects gives the classic expression to “empirical” forms. Such attempts have been recurring for times of the sentimentalism.
