Abstract
Rozprawa doktorska określa rolę geometrii w procesie kształtowania rozwiązań przestrzennych oraz powiązania elementów geometrycznych z zagadnieniami architektonicznymi. Kataloguje i grupuje różne rodzaje utworów geometrycznych płaskich i przestrzennych w aspekcie ich występowania w strukturach architektonicznych. Na podstawie tych rozważań ukazuje frekwencję form w przestrzeni architektonicznej.
Praca ponadto prezentuje systematykę elementów płaskich planów miast i założeń urbanistycznych według kryteriów kompozycji geometrycznej. Omawia aspekt geometryczny zastosowania brył w kompozycyjnych zamknięciach ulic, a także odbić lustrzanych wykorzystywanych przy komponowaniu struktur architektonicznych. Ukazuje także zagadnie-nie wpływu metod zapisu przestrzeni na kształtowanie formy architektonicznej.
Przedstawienie w jednym opracowaniu wielu problemów, związanych z wykorzystaniem geometrii w architekturze, może służyć za bazę do dalszych szczegółowych analiz tego tematu.
The dissertation determines the role of geometry in the process of shaping of spatial arrangements and relations between geometrical factors and architectural questions. It classifies and groups various types of planar and spatial geometrical forms with regards to their occurrence in architectural structures. Based on this discussion the work presents the order of forms in the architectural space.
Furthermore, the dissertation presents taxonomy of planar forms in plans of cities and urban complexes according to the criteria of geometrical composition. It discusses the geometrical aspect of application of solids in compositional street closures and mirror images used when composing architectural structures. It also shows the question of influence of the method of depiction of the spatial development on the shaping of architectural form.
As the work presents numerous questions relating to the application of geometry in architecture it may be used as a basis for further detailed analyses of the subject.
