Abstract: Architektura jest jednym z głównych środków przekazu w procesie komunikacji kulturowej. Detal architektoniczny, jako jej nieodrodna część, jest więc ważnym nośnikiem podstawowych znaków i symboli w akcie komunikowania się w obrębie poszczególnych kultur, bądź też między nimi. Co detal może mówić nam dzisiaj i czy przekaz ten nie został zniekształcony przez postmodernistyczną grę konwencjami i znaczeniami?

Architecture is one of the main media in the process of cultural communication. Consequently, architectural detail appears to be a crucial transmitter of basic signs and symbols in the act of communication within individual cultures or among them. What can detail tell us today and wasn't the message deformed by post-modern playing with conventions and meanings?
