Abstract
Krajobraz jest częścią dziedzictwa historycznego, obrazuje różnorodne wpływy kulturowe i stanowi o tożsamości miejsca. Może być też postrzegany jako część szerokiej historii ekonomicznej i społecznej. Architektura krajobrazu jest jedną z najbardziej różnorodnych i wielowątkowych dyscyplin, zawierają się w niej dwa silne równoważne nurty: przyrodniczy i kulturowy. Jako rodzaj sztuki wizualnej, sztuki kreowania przestrzeni, jest tak stara jak ludzkość. W niniejszym artykule rozważane są wybrane układy urbanistyczne i obiekty architektoniczne wraz z otoczeniem, ale motywem przewodnim jest dzieło jednego z najwybitniejszych projektantów krajobrazu André Le Nôtre'a i jego późniejsze inspiracje.
Landscape represents a part of the historical heritage; it illustrates diverse cultural influences and determines an identity of a place. It can also be viewed in the context of a broadly defined economic and social history. Landscape architecture is one of the most diverse and multifaceted disciplines, with two strong dominant streams: naturalistic and cultural. Landscape architecture as a visual art, an art of shaping space, is as old as humanity. This article discusses chosen examples of several urban arrangements and structures with their surroundings, but the leading theme is the masterpiece of one of the most accomplished landscape designers André Le Notre and his later inspirations.
