Dzieło architektoniczne powstające w kontekście współczesnego miasta, obok walorów estetycznych i funkcjonalnych, powinno tworzyć nowe związki z formami i przestrzeniami, które mu towarzyszą. Ważna jest kompozycja stwarzająca nową całość. Zdolność oddziaływania na emocje takiej całości może ułatwić identyfikację i zapamiętywanie budynku i sekwencji przestrzeni, z drugiej strony może tworzyć nastrój złożoności i niejednoznaczności wzmacniający atrakcyjność miejsca. Ważne wydaje się także, aby powstające budynki działały w szerszym kontekście czasowym, stając się równocześnie czynnikiem aktywacji otaczających je przestrzeni, dostosowując je do zmieniających się potrzeb mieszkańców i turystów.
An architectural creation emerging in the context of a modern city, apart from aesthetic and functional values, should also establish new relations with the forms and spaces that accompany it. The composition that creates a new entity is very important. The ability to influence the emotions of such an entity may facilitate the identification of a given building and space sequence and also create an atmosphere of complexity and ambiguity, intensifying the place's attractiveness. It also seems important that the new buildings operate within a wider time context, at the same time becoming an activating factor for the space surrounding them and adjusting them to the changing needs of inhabitants and tourists.
